I’m updating my websites this weekend, and just came across this. Rebecca is an award-winning Scottish fiddle player, and I love the pure joy on her face, and the beautiful summer evening. Happy rainy Saturday to you!

Hello all, Randal here, yes I’m still employed! :) I have been on a crash course on Thistledown Photography and the photography business as a whole. My goodness I have a lot to learn. One interesting aspect of the business is social marketing, which is a general term for marketing through sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. Many of you may know that this blog feeds directly into the Thistledown Photography Fan Page on Facebook. Which brings me to my main point. (Finally! :) ) If you appreciate what we are doing here at Thistledown, you can help out by adding a comment when you see some photos that you like our even if you would like to make some clever retort on one of my entries. (For Example: ”Nice Hat!” , for those of you who may have admired my Greek Fisherman’s cap in my last blog post. :) ) Every time you post a comment on Facebook or our blog, you are helping Ali and I out by bringing attention to our business. We decided to go this route rather than purchasing an ad during the Super Bowl for obvious reasons. (Although I really wanted to get an ad on during this Sunday’s game, for some reason Ali wasn’t into it. :) ) Another way that you can help out is to suggest our Facebook Fan Page to others who you think might appreciate the photographic art that Ali is creating.
This brings me to the most important reason for posting a comment, Artist Inspiration. The inspiration and driving force behind Thistledown Photography is Ali’s talent and desire as an Artist. Like most Artists, Ali is driven to perfection and this drive can lead an artist toward casting a very critical eye toward their work. (Unlike us business dudes who either revel in our inadequacies or declare success upon achieving mediocrity. :) ) To me Ali’s work is perfection, to her it is pretty good, but needs to get better. I hear verbal and second hand comments all of the time along the line of, ”When I saw the slide show of my daughter, (fill in the blank), it brought tears of joy to my eyes.” I know these comments must be true because I have had a similar experience when looking at a slide show of Jack’s soccer team, the PACE Freeze, that Ali was nice enough to post for us. When comments along this line get posted, it is like a little present to Ali, that serves the effect of renewing Ali’s spirit. We truly appreciate any and all comments. So, please don’t be shy and comment as often as you like.
Have a Great Weekend,
Randal

I traded sessions with the awesomely fantasmagorical Brielle McClain of Brielle McClain Photography a while ago – Brielle’s bio photos were my end of the deal, and she took my four kiddos out for a wild wintery afternoon of fun. These photos just make my mom-heart happy – this is really them. Hop on over to the McBlog and take a look!
